We create a customer account for every customer who registers with us via the "create an Account" function, i.e. a password-protected direct access to his file data stored with us. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties, insofar as this is permitted by law, also for the purpose of contract settlement or settlement, for marketing purposes or if you have given your permission in advance. A communication in textual form to the contact details under point 1 (eg e-mail or letter) is sufficient for this.
To send the newsletter, we use the e-mail address you have provided and require your confirmation that you, as the owner of the e-mail address, agree with the receipt. If you do not want to receive a newsletter from us anymore, you can lodge an objection at any time without incurring other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. If you do not wish to receive any product recommendations or in its totality any advertising messages from us, you can lodge an objection at any time without incurring other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. A communication in textual form to the contact details under point 1 (eg e-mail or letter) is sufficient for this. Of course you will also find an unsubscribe link in every e-mail.
2.3.3 Advertising banners
We also use the data collected during your visit to show you so-called advertising banners. These are advertisements that we place on third-party pages. This usually happens with the use of so-called cookies or pixels. Our aim is to make the advertising offer more useful and interesting for you, so you will see in particular the products that you have already viewed on our site or products that resemble the products you have viewed (so-called retargeting). In the context of the advertising banners, we only work with pseudonymous data; information in non-coded textual form about your person (eg your name or your e-mail address) will not be stored in the cookies. More information about cookies, pixels and retargeting can be found under point 4 and point 7 of this policy.
Accepting cookies is not a condition for visiting our website. We point out, however, that the use of the shopping cart function and ordering products are only possible with the activation of cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies and flash cookies are small files that are stored on your data medium and that store certain settings and data for exchanging with our system via your browser. In principle, two different types of cookies are distinguished, so-called session cookies, which are erased as soon as you close the browser, and temporary / permanent cookies, which are stored on your data medium for an extended period or indefinitely. Saving this helps us to set up our website and our offers accordingly for you and makes it easier to use, because, for example, certain data you enter is stored so that you do not have to repeat it permanently.
Which cookies does Shoecase use?
What data is stored in the cookies?
No personal data is stored in the cookies used by Shoecase. The cookies we use are therefore not to be assigned to a specific person and therefore not to you. An identification number is assigned to this when the cookie is activated. An allocation of your personal data to this identification number is not possible at any time. Your name, IP address or similar data that would allow you to assign the cookie to you are not realized at any time. Based on the cookie technology we receive only anonymized information, for example about the pages of our shop being visited, which products were viewed etc.
What is onsite targeting?
On the Shoecase website, data for optimizing our advertising and the entire online offering is collected on the basis of a cookie technology. This information is not used to identify you personally, but only serves as an anonymous evaluation of the use of the homepage. Your data will at no time be associated with the personal data stored with us. With this technology we can present you advertising and / or special offers and services, the content of which is based on the connection with the information obtained through the clickstream analysis (for example, advertising that is aimed at the exclusive viewing of sports shoes in recent days). Our goal here is to set up our online offer as attractive as possible for you and to present you with advertising that matches your interests.
Are there cookies from third-party suppliers (so-called third-party cookies)?
Shoecase serves a number of advertising partners, who help make the Internet offer and the Shoecase website more interesting for you. That is why when you visit the Shoecase website, cookies from partner companies are stored on your hard disk. This involves temporary cookies, which are automatically deleted after the specified time. These temporary or permanent cookies (lifespan 14 months to 10 years) are stored on your hard disk and are deleted automatically after the fixed time. The cookies of our partner companies also do not contain any personal data. Only pseudonym data is registered under a user ID. This involves, for example, information about which products you have looked at, whether something was purchased, which products were searched, etc. Some of our advertising partners also register information outside the websites about which sites you visited before. or in which products you were interested, for example, to be able to show you the advertising that best suits your interest. These pseudonymous data are not connected to your personal data at any time. Their sole purpose is to enable our advertising partners to appeal to you with advertising that can actually take your interest.
Our website uses so-called re-targeting technologies. We use these technologies to make the Internet offer more interesting for you. This technique makes it possible to appeal to internet users who are already interested in our shop and our products with advertising on the websites of our partners. We are convinced that the display of personalized, interest-based advertising is generally more interesting for the internet user than advertising that does not have such a personal relationship. The presentation of these advertising materials on the sites of our partners takes place on the basis of a cookie technology and an analysis of the previous user behavior. This form of advertising takes place completely anonymously. No personal data is stored and no user profiles are connected to your personal data.
I agree that so-called cookies can be applied and with this my usage data can be registered, stored and used. Furthermore, I agree that my data in cookies will be stored until after the end of the browser session and, for example, can be called up again at my next visits to the website. This permission can be revoked at any time with validity for the future, because I refuse the acceptance of cookies in my browser settings.
How can I appeal against storing cookies?
You can set your browser to accept cookies only when you agree. If you only want to accept the Shoecase cookies, but not the cookies of our service providers and partners, you can choose the setting in your browser "Block third party cookies".
We advise you to always completely unsubscribe from shared computers that are set up to accept cookies and flash cookies.
With each access to the site of Shoecase usage data are transmitted by the relevant internet browser and stored in protocol files, the so-called server log files. The data records stored in it contain the following data: date and time of the call, name of the called-up site, IP address, referrer URL (origin URL from which you arrived on the websites), the amount of data sent, product data and version information of the browser used. We evaluate these log file data records in order to further improve our offer and the Shoecase shop and to make it more user-friendly, to detect and correct errors faster, and to manage server capacities. At the same time, we use logfile data records as a defense against attacks on our Shoecase shop, for example in the context of so-called distributed-denial-of-service attacks, which aim to improve access to our Shoecase shop by block overload with requests.
